From Pastor John
I've been asked to share the link for our YouTube channel. Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ0gk74TtMpcI5nbj5Nsx2A (might need to copy and paste link into address bar). We aren't sure it will work. If not, please click the link above to watch live.
If people will subscribe to the channel and click on the bell icon then can get announcements when something is posted and set reminders for upcoming events. When we reach a threshold of 100 subscribers, we can set our own channel name rather than the gobbledygook above.
If you want to search for the channel on YouTube, type Trade United Methodist into the search bar. Our channel name is "First United Methodist and Trade United Methodist" but there are so many Firsts on YouTube, we don't show up easily.
Not only are there Sunday worship services for two weeks. If you go to the YouTube channel all the worship services are available as well as the Wednesday Bible Study. On April 10, there will be a Good Friday service at 7:00 pm.
The embedded streaming/saved videos are below:
Every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. members and visitors alike gather in the Fellowship Hall to share beverages and breakfast foods.
At 10:00 a.m. Sunday School begins and lasts until 10:45 a.m.
At 11:00 a.m., the congregation and visitors engage in a worship service. First United Methodist Church of Mountain City, TN has a worship service that features music from the chancel choir, instrumentals from the pianist and organist, and hymns from the United Methodist Hymnal. There is also Children's Time with a sermon just for the kids. FUMC has a children's church that begins following the Anthem by the Choir.
Something new is going on at First UMC. The Growth Team has been working to provide materials for our new visitors' bags to be put together and distributed by Phillip and Louisa Littlejohn. The Greeters will need to alert them each Sunday that we have a visitor, so they can prepare the bags which will contain homemade bread, prepared by Bobbie Smith and Carolyn Hawkins; homemade apple butter prepared by Cathy Pennington; FUMC pens with contact information, ordered by Carol Huff; and a rack card with pictures of our beautiful church and our lovely children, along with a mission statement and contact info, prepared by Celia Pennington. We are thrilled and delighted that we now have something for our visitors to take away, and we deeply appreciate the efforts of these folks.
Everyone is invited to join the congregation Sunday mornings for a celebration of our Christian faith.
